When I joined SHI in 2021 the company was on the verge of a total rebrand. Every element of the brand identity, from the logo to the brand colors to the layouts on the main website were being redesigned completely.

One of my first tasks at the company was to take the early drafts of these design changes from the main website and implement them in the theme of our wordpress-driven blog, called the “SHI Resource Hub” or just the “Hub.”

Given the extreme differences in architecture between the two platforms (SHI.com was being built in Kentico, the Hub is built on WordPress) this formed several complex challenges. I couldn’t just copy and paste CSS from one platform to another and have anything render properly. The project required heavy development and major changes to the existing theme in order to align to the new branding, but the results have increased the Hub traffic greatly and improved the organic results for content.
