Azul Tequila is a bar and restaurant in Austin that has distinguished itself for having an excellent variety of high quality tequilas and amazing cuisine from the interior of Mexico. When the owner approached the creative team at Umbrella Media looking for a logo that was both a modern and trendy nod to their current clientele, and an homage to their cultural heritage, I knew what elements were needed to create this logo.

Drawing inspiration from ancient Aztec warrior masks, and using typography that remains clean and modern, I produced a simple logo that creates a visual connection between the old and the new in a unified visual statement of authenticity and style.
